Theme of the Week: A review of my choice

Yeah, a review of my choice. No, I’m not gonna review some site or blog or forum. I’m just gonna review the most stupid exams that there can be in this whole world. Is that possible? *thinking* It should be… I guess.
So. I had my first aid exams today. I woke up early to read my i-don’t-know-how-many pages notes for the exam because I didn’t have time the day before and the days before that. I’m late, I know but still, I tried to retain everything in there. Signs, symptoms, treatment, bones, pulse rate, everything there was in there. I am prepared. Good.
The Fellowship First Aiders, NHQ is where I have to go to sit for the exams. It’s so small that it took my like 5 minutes to accept the fact that there are mice and other creepy creatures where I have to sit for the exams. Never mind. That’s still okay.
I take a place at the back, along with my friend who keeps asking me questions about everything. Then, my teacher, Mr. R. comes in with a paper in his hands. To be noted, I don’t like him because I think he’s just a fool who copies everything from everywhere and who never sticks to his word. A paper in his hand, he asked us if we know this or that. Well, we do. Good.
Everyone whispering to each other, we open the exam paper. Surprise surprise, or is it? We have just been told what there was going to be in the paper. Oh yeah. The teacher asked us to ‘help’ another girl who had some problems. Whispers, paper exchange, leakage, everyone smiling. THAT’S JUST BLOODY CHEATING!!! My friend and I were the only persons who noticed that it was wrong to do so, but hey, I can’t say anything.
Well, that’s not all. Time for practicals arrive. We were told not to bring any bandage and here, the woman simply asks us, Did everyone bring his own bandage? I was already ‘annoyed’ with that theory paper and now… She provided us with some and paired us. Well, even here, the CHEATING was present. As soon as the woman had her back to us, everyone started to ask their friends to help them with their knots and everything. I got my arms tied for like an hour because my partner was very much shorter than me and hence we had to stand up and sit down each 30 seconds :S
Orals now. I was expecting to be asked question one by one, but hey, everyone sat down in the same room and the woman started asking for VOLUNTEERS to reply her questions. I was in a really bad mood when I went out from here.
Some might say that I should accept the luck I was being given but hey, is that a way to carry an exam?!
Conclusion: It’s the most stupid exam I have ever sit for in my whole life

with all those cheatings, it’s pointless to carry exams! the purpose of an exams is to answer questions alone and unaided in any way! :S not by allowing candidates to help each other cheat :S

My point exactly. I pity my friend who has had to accompany me on my way home.
She had to listen to everything I had to say.

I can very well understand your frustration. Afterall, exams are meant to be a test of each candidate’s aptitudes. Cheating ruins the whole evaluation process.

I am concerned at the ability of those who had to cheat. I wouldn’t want to be in an emergency situation with those to be the only ones to help. Here I think the receiving of a certificate for first aid is quite easy as well. My kids have been through different portions of first aid many times. I have not been for a number of years. I do wonder why everything must be dumbed down for the masses.
