Before the Meeting

•March 14, 2009 • 23 Comments

( I would love to see that on the front page of a paper :P :$ )

(Translation: A first in Mauritius, the Island’s bloggers meet at Mc Donald’s in Port-Louis, to get to know each other, and to make an update on the number of bloggers on the Mauritian web. Yashvin and Morina, the ones behind the “Mauritian Bloggers Meeeting” project, were both present, as were numerous fans of the Mauritian Blog-o-sphere. )

Since a few days now, Yashvin and Morina have been sending invites to all the Mauritian Blog Community and being bloggers, bbZuSh, Sayuka and myself were all interested to go to the meeting to finally meet all these virtual friends. I’m sure by now, we must all be online to blog the meeting.. but rather than being one of the many who are going to do so, I would like to count you our (bbZuSh, Sayuka and me) adventure before coming to meet our fellow friends today. Wormholes

•March 8, 2009 • 16 Comments

No, I’m not talking about those tiny animals you see about everywhere, though I believe it should be easier to explain how earthworms eat the soil and excrete part of it to dig their holes and find their way underground. Well, for now, we aren’t really going “underground” but rather above ground, far in space where man still hopes to find his greatest discovery.

So back to our topic: wormholes. The word itself sounds creepy enough, making you think of those little digging creatures (again) who use these holes to travel. Our wormhole has the same use, technically, for it provides a “tunnel’ connecting two different points in space-time. Of course, if it were such a simple thing as tunnel, it wouldn’t be such a fascinating phenomenon for all physicists. These tunnels allow the bending of space-time in such a way that a trip through them would take far less time than it we were to go the normal way. Well, I guess I should be finding a wormhole to take me to Pluto rather than dying in a spaceship before actually reaching there… Why Pluto? I’ve always wanted to go to Pluto to see if there were any dogs there… Continue reading ‘Wormholes’

Me? A tutor?

•March 7, 2009 • 9 Comments

It sounded a bit weird at first, but I’m kinda getting used to it, though I still do not believe I accepted tutoring my little cousin. Not that I was given a choice; my mom and aunt practically forced it onto me, making all the decisions without considering the concerned person here, i.e. me. The reason for my reluctance had more to do with my cousin than with the tutoring. It had always been mutual dislike between us; maybe it had to do with the age difference. An 8-years gap can be quite a lot for 2 kids living under the same roof, especially when both are only child to their parents. Anyway, it seems that the “dislike” has completely disappeared for now and for good, I’m hoping; these past years I had been so busy with school and other stuffs that I barely gave any attention to the persons living in my house. The excitement was not over…

•February 27, 2009 • 17 Comments

Well yeah, it wasn’t over….

“Nussai, phone for you.” That was my mom who practically had to yell for me to hear her. I had just gotten out of the shower and was quite late for the prayers  :P As always… I was wondering who could be calling be since the only person who actually calls me (to check if I’m still alive) had just talked to me.

” lo…”

“Nus, it’s shaz” -____- Why was she calling me now? Did something happen? *thinking*

“I’m ranked in English Lit, French, and Socio…”

“Ohhh! ^.^ Congra-”

“…I think you’re ranked in Computing.”

“Oh. Great.”

“I wished you’d have some reaction.”

“Euh ya. I’ll go do my prayers. Will get back to you after that.”

From pink to black

•February 26, 2009 • 5 Comments

… From 2nd to 4th… What am I talking about? The new iPod I got from my parents, as a congratulations gift. (Ipod Nano 4th generation, I had the2nd gen one)Well, I had already planned to ask for a new one if I got good results, and ta-da, I got one. We just received it yesterday, which is actually too late; there was a small confusion, and they sent it to another branch. No need to say no one bothered to call us to let us know, but all’s well that ends well :P After my mom… euh… talked to the guy, we finally managed to get it.

I’m feeling a bit sad for the old one, because it still plays the music, but quite some things have stopped working. My hold button has been… holding with powerglue for some months now and the next button has been dead for… at least a year now. My screen only shows horizontal lines, the interface only shows up once in a month or so. But still, it was my little pinkie iPod I couldn’t live without. How it ended like that, I have no idea. One day it was okay, and the other, everything went wrong. I think electronic devices tend to break easily around me… My first mp3 player was gone in a week, my fan is crazy, my clock has… stopped working for some reason, my tv blanked out… I’ve said enough =) Continue reading ‘From pink to black’

Eventful Day?

•February 21, 2009 • 5 Comments

…it certainly was a weird day xD I haven’t had such a busy day for months. I even had to wake up early, which I practically never manage to do now. The hols are making me even more lazy, while the sandman keeps working overtime.

My grandma came back today, from her 6 months holiday she spent in London. She certainly looks better, given she practically stayed in bed last year.  She’s been talking and shouting all day long, happily watching her two of her five daughters (one my mom) bickering like kids over who received gifts last new year and who did not. The discussion isn’t over yet from whatI feel, but they both still obey her when she scolds them. Now that was a funny scene, or maybe not as funny as my grandma’s green hair. I would have taken a picture, but her hair would have looked white in it. She put something in her hair, some natural stuff and well, it certainly grew, but well… it’s green now. On the bright side, it matched her outfit; she was wearing a green dress today xD Continue reading ‘Eventful Day?’

Everything back in order….

•February 20, 2009 • 11 Comments

Okay! Maybe not everything xD There’s a whole room waiting for me downstairs, but still, I can say more than 50% is over. Today, was kinda, cleaning day, with me taking out all my school books out of my room. it’s unbelievable how many things I’ve got stacked in here. I only got my room some 2 years ago and all the shelves, cupboards, tables… were so full with papers and books that I didn’t even know where to start. Oh well, I did manage to find the start point, with the cupboards (and I still don’t know how come they are still full when I threw away so many things). My story books are back on the shelves, where they belong; my head hurts when I start counting how many books there are on those shelves, it’s no wonder books were banned at my place for some time *sigh*

Anyway, this certainly marks the end of the school days, and the beginning of a new period in my life. School’s has been over for some weeks now, with us receiving our results on the 6th of February. Sayuka and me, both got our 5 As, with Sayuka ranked 6th at national level on the Art Side =P This was supposed to be yet another post we didn’t write. With celebrations and all, we were rarely in the mood to sit at our desk and open our WordPress and it’s a bit late to boast about our results now xD Neglecting the blog again… Continue reading ‘Everything back in order….’

The farewell of life

•February 3, 2009 • 13 Comments

Innocent eyes looking up to the sky
The gaze does not reach where it should have
Blinded by ways of the adults –
For such names had they been given,
He tries to find the difference between he and I.

Tiny fingers locked with mine,
We walked by, every details in mind.
But, to each our own ways,
To each our own views,
Again, the same path we are bound to share.

The spark filling those eyes,
Questions dawn in the mind.
What he sees and I do not,
I keep wondering,
As people come and go by.

The ways of parting,
The approach to farewells,
Don’t I, among others, know it too well?
The bonds that break, the feelings that blur,
Such is the fate at the crossroads of life.

Innocent eyes looking up to the sky,
The time has not come yet for him to fly.
Our grasp loosen as the seconds glide by,
The smiles fade as the hearts cry.
It has now come to the final goodbye.
